GCSE Top Tips for Pupils and Parents

With the GCSE’s taking place in the coming weeks, we thought we’d put together a few top tips to help both pupils and parents during this time. Remember, we are all in this together…

If you are looking for ways to help your child prepare for their exam on the day, here are our top tips to share with them:

1. Believe.
Stay positive and confident in your abilities. Trust in the revision you have been doing for several months. Remember, you have prepared as well, and you can and you are capable of doing well. Stay motivated and believe.

2. Hydrate
It is important for a healthier mind to stay hydrated as much as possible. This can help you think more clearly on the big day. Don’t forget to have a good breakfast too.

3. Don’t rush – Manage your time.

Use your time wisely during the exam. Allocate enough time to each section and question, and make sure you don’t spend too long on any one question. Don’t rush through the exam, but also don’t spend too much time on questions you find difficult.

4. Stay Calm and Focused
Take deep breaths and try to relax. Avoid distractions and focus on the task at hand. Trust in your preparation and remember that you have done your best to prepare for the exam.

5. Read instructions carefully
Take a few minutes to read through the exam instructions carefully, and make sure you understand the format and structure of the exam, including the types of questions and time allocation for each section.

Hope these will help you both. We have our fingers crossed for you all.
